LinkedIn Recruiting: 3 Strategies to Build Your Dream Team in 2024

It is time to supercharge your recruitment game!

Candidates are more informed than ever and there is more competition for top candidates. With that in mind, I have compiled 3 simple things for you to start doing in recruiting in 2024 on LinkedIn to start building your dream team.

1) Data Driven Recruiting

We all know that making informed, data driven decisions is always better than gut feeling. This is because we can focus on what is important for us as an organisation and optimise it. However, do you know how to be data driven on LinkedIn?

LinkedIn Talent Insights

LinkedIn Talent Insights is the tool available on LinkedIn that allows you to see how the talent pool looks like that you are trying to attract. The insights of this platform are numerous and can be used in many different ways.

  • Are you creating the job requirements with the hiring manager? Talent Insights shows the hiring manager if what they are looking for even exists and where they are located.
  • Are you struggling to hire for a specific role? Talent Insights shows you why by indicating how many people of the candidate pool you have engaged with and the untapped potential.
  • Do you want to know how your company or your competitors are performing with their talent? Talent Insights provides snapshots with all the information you will need to drive your talent strategy

These are but a few examples of what Talent Insights shows you and it is really the only tool that you can use to be more data driven on LinkedIn. If you want to work more strategic on LinkedIn and have any questions regarding Talent Insights, feel free to contact me.

2) Employer Branding

A lot of times, people think that Employer Branding is a massive undertaking which requires a lot of time and effort. On a larger level it is, of course, something that takes time, money, and effort, but on LinkedIn it is really about just getting started.

LinkedIn did a study and found that people who follow your company are 81% more likely to engage with your recruiters. This is the value of employer branding because it attracts candidates to your company profile where you can build a story that your talent pool wants to engage with.

If you are unsure of how to start your employer branding story, I recommend taking a look at LinkedIn Talent Insights where we can see what matters most to a specific talent pool. In this case, I have looked for IT.

LinkedIn Career Pages

Take this information and build out how your company offers the best work-life balance, the best flexible work arrangements and the best job security.

The easiest way to do this is through LinkedIn Career Pages where you can build unique stories aimed at specific targeted talent pools. A great example of a career page is, of course, LinkedIn.

To fill out a career page is incredibly simple and should take you no more than 30 minutes. That means that you can spend 30 minutes today to make your recruiting 81% more efficient for the rest of the year.

3) Using jobs as a traffic driver

We know that we can use LinkedIn Talent Insights to build a great and simple employer branding story on your career page to attract your targeted talent pools and be more efficient when sourcing. However, sourcing isn’t the only way of recruiting.

LinkedIn Job Slots

Jobs are one of your most important tools for driving engagement with your talent pools. By nature, they are targeted towards the people that you want to engage with and has a much higher engagement rate than nearly anything else on LinkedIn.

Most of the times, jobs have brought more engagement and traffic to a company page than all of the posts on that page in the same timeframe.

By driving traffic to the great employer branding story that you spent 30 minutes building, you will get 1 of 3 things happening. An application, a follow, or nothing.

As we have seen, a follow provides immense value to your company by making you 81% more efficient recruiting in the future while an application provides instant value today.

The best thing about jobs is that you can automatically link your Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to LinkedIn so that your jobs are automatically posted. This means that jobs on LinkedIn are a highly automated way of engaging your talent pool and driving more followers to your company.
